If a message is encrypted, a padlock icon displays next to the sender's name. If a message is signed, a seal icon appears. If trust cannot be verified or if the message has been tampered with, a broken seal icon appears.
If you want to send someone encrypted mail, but you don't have that person's IBM(R) Lotus(R) Notes(R) public key, have them send you a message that is signed using their Notes Private key. Then, when you receive the message, add the name to your Contacts. The contact record will include their Notes certificates.

Message recall works only if you are using the Release 8 mail application template (Mail8.ntf) or later, and if both you and the message recipient have mail files on a Lotus Domino(R) 8 or later server. If you are Getting a "recall was not allowed" status message, it could be that the message recipient disabled the preference to allow message recall, or the administrator has not enabled this feature for the files on your mail server.
